Precision Sampling, Every Time
The MPE Automatic Sampler (Scoop Type) is engineered to extract representative samples directly from solid materials or fines conveyed on a belt. Sampling is achieved by moving the cutter along an arc path above the conveyor, with the arc radius adjustable to suit specific applications. The sampling methods comply with international standards including IS, ISO, ASTM, BIS, JIS, DIN, and GOST.
The cutter moves linearly across the belt to collect all material into the sample. Once the cutter reaches the belt edge, it is stopped by a brake, and the sample is discharged into a collection chute positioned at the stop point. Skirts on either side of the cutter prevent spillage or entry of scattered material into the chute.
This sampler is particularly effective for moist materials prone to sticking or buildup. The cutter’s discharge is assisted by momentum and brake action at the end of each cycle. The cutter features adjustable and replaceable blades along with an abrasion-resistant rubber scraper to protect the belt while maintaining a close clearance. It is recommended that the cutter opening be a multiple of three times the nominal top particle size, with a cutter volume approximately twice the sample extraction quantity.
The cutter is driven by an electric motor connected via a gearbox and coupling, supported on two pillow block bearings. During installation, adjustments can be made to the cutter’s arc radius and its angle relative to the traversing path to accommodate the material burden on the belt.
Customs built designs are also available.
